Growth plan for Nécessaire, 8 Oct 2026
Scale spend. Hold CAC.
The Body Duo has 3017 reviews and a 4.7 rating, so the proof already exists. The plan turns it into ten creators, new ad tests every week and one number to protect: a target CAC of $20.16, under a ceiling of $33.60.

- Target CAC
- $20.16
- New ads a week at peak
- 20
- Creators live by week six
- 10
- Test spend, six weeks
- $24,000
Contents
10 chapters, then the gates and every number’s source.
01 The number
One number: $20.16 CAC on a $42 average order
The number is target CAC: $20.16, which is 0.6 × $33.60. That ceiling comes from a $42 average order, a 40% margin and one repeat order. Those are my starting inputs until your data replaces them. Everything else in the plan serves that line.
Protect
Target CAC: $20.16 on a first purchase
Ceiling = average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders): $42 × 40% × (1 + 1) = $33.60. Guard line = 0.6 × $33.60 = $20.16. Across the ranges: $6.30 to $202.50.
Three moves
- Kill losing ads early, one variable per test, so spend only follows creative that earns it.
- Feed each winner with fresh creator videos every week so fatigue does not push CAC up.
- Cut any ad whose CAC stays above the $33.60 ceiling and report it the next morning.

02 Variety
Body Duo, Hair Duo and Hand Cream each need their own hooks
Each concept has to carry one product, one proof and one hook. Hair gets Rosemary Hair Duo, hand gets The Hand Cream at $28.00, body gets The Body Duo and its 3017 reviews. One variable per test, so every loser teaches something.
| Reason to buy | Proof you already have | Ads (proposed) |
|---|---|---|
| Subscribe and save | Subscribe & Save 15% | 5 |
| Free shipping and returns | Free US Shipping $75+ | Free Returns | 3 |
| Clinical study results | 85% Reported Less Crepiness | 2 |
| Hand Cream reviews | 1,211 Reviews | 2 |
| Body Lotion results | 100% Said Skin Felt Moisturized | 2 |
| Rosemary Hair Duo results | 93% Said They Felt Improvement In Hair Strength | 2 |
| Hand Cream scents | Now In Eucalyptus + Olibanum. | 2 |
| Total | The ad concepts tab | 18 |

Each row is a reason to buy that the brand already has proof for. The count is how many of the ads carry it: a reason with a single ad is a bet, not a pattern, and the next batch of concepts moves toward the reasons that win.
03 Disturbances
Seven risks, from the $75+ shipping line to survey claims
| Disturbance | Likelihood | Impact | Owner | Gate (proposed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free shipping starts at $75+, so single items may push CAC above the line | Med | High | Both | Track order value weekly; push bundles if the average order stays under $42. |
| Creator or ad wording drifts beyond the brand's own survey lines on The Body Retinol | Med | High | Both | Every claim matches the claims sheet before launch; no ad runs with off-sheet wording. |
| Winning Body Duo ads fatigue fast once spend rises | Med | Med | Me | Replace any ad whose CAC stays above $33.60 for three straight days. |
| Tracking misses Subscribe & Save 15% orders, hiding repeat value | Med | High | Your team | Subscription orders show in reporting before the ramp passes $6,000 cumulative. |
| Creators join slower than the ramp of two a week | Med | Med | Me | If fewer than six creators are live by week four, hold ad volume at 12 a week. |
| The one-repeat-order assumption is wrong for hair and hand products | Med | High | Both | Read monthly cohort payback; if repeats fall short, lower the $33.60 ceiling. |
| Landing pages lag creators, wasting hair, hand and body traffic | Low | Med | Your team | Nine landing pages live by week six, matching creator output. |
Scores are my read from outside the company, re-scored in week one with your data. Each risk has one owner and one gate that can be checked with a number, so nobody has to argue about whether it happened.
04 The ceiling
The ceiling is $33.60; the guard line is $20.16
| Line | Value | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Average order | $42 (range $12.00–$150.00) | Assumption Range from the site product prices (Published); the midpoint is a guess |
| Gross margin | 40% (range 35–45%) | Assumption Replace in week one |
| Repeat orders after the first | 1 (range 0.5–2) | Assumption Replace with cohort data in week one |
| Margin per customer, all orders | $33.60 | Calculated Average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders) |
| Guard line for CAC | $20.16 | Calculated 0.6 × the margin per customer |
The math, with the assumed lines
Ceiling = average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders): $42 × 40% × (1 + 1) = $33.60. Guard line = 0.6 × $33.60 = $20.16. Across the ranges: $6.30 to $202.50.
Range across the assumptions: $6 to $203.
The $42 order, 40% margin and one repeat order are guesses. The $33.60 ceiling and $20.16 guard line follow from them. Week one replaces them with your real order and repeat data.
The ceiling is a range, not one number: the most a new customer can cost before shipping and packaging, which I do not have. Replace the guessed lines with yours and every figure below recalculates.
05 Test ramp
$24,000 of tests across six weeks, before any scale
| Week | New ads × budget / ad (proposed) | Weekly test spend | Cumulative | Creators posting | CAC target (proposed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 12 × $250 | $3,000 | $3,000 | 0 | $20 |
| 2 | 12 × $250 | $3,000 | $6,000 | 2 | $20 |
| 3 | 12–20 × $250 | $4,000 | $10,000 | 4 | $20 |
| 4 | 12–20 × $250 | $4,000 | $14,000 | 6 | $20 |
| 5 | 20 × $250 | $5,000 | $19,000 | 8 | $20 |
| 6 | 20 × $250 | $5,000 | $24,000 | 10 | $20 |
Weeks 1 and 2 run 12 ads at $250 each, $3,000 a week. Weeks 3 and 4 run 12–20 ads, $4,000 a week. Weeks 5 and 6 run 20 ads, $5,000 a week. Total tests: $24,000, all Proposed. Losers die early; winners earn scale.
The math. Week 1: 12 × $250 = $3,000; Week 2: 12 × $250 = $3,000; Week 3: 16 × $250 = $4,000; Week 4: 16 × $250 = $4,000; Week 5: 20 × $250 = $5,000; Week 6: 20 × $250 = $5,000. Total $24,000 (96 ads × $250). A range such as 12–20 counts as its midpoint.
Weeks one and two test what the brand already has, rewritten per reason to buy. From week three, creator videos enter paid only after they beat their own account median. A range of new ads counts as its midpoint in the spend column.
06 Volume
Volume: 20 to 80 concepts across hair, hand and body
20 concepts → 2 winners → $18,000 added a month; 80 concepts → 8 winners → $72,000. Hit rate and spend per winner are assumptions. More variety across hair, hand and body means more shots at orders under $20.16 CAC.
| Concepts tested / month | Hit rate (assumed) | New winners / month | Spend each winner holds (assumed) | Added spend at target CAC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 10% | 2 | $300 / day | $18,000 / month |
| 40 | 10% | 4 | $300 / day | $36,000 / month |
| 60 | 10% | 6 | $300 / day | $54,000 / month |
| 80 | 10% | 8 | $300 / day | $72,000 / month |
The math. 20 concepts × 10% = 2 winners × $300 × 30 days = $18,000 a month; 40 concepts × 10% = 4 winners × $300 × 30 days = $36,000 a month; 60 concepts × 10% = 6 winners × $300 × 30 days = $54,000 a month; 80 concepts × 10% = 8 winners × $300 × 30 days = $72,000 a month.
The hit rate and the spend each winner holds are placeholders. The first thirty days of tests replace them with real numbers, and the table is recalculated the same day.
07 Allocation
Where the $100,000 goes across Duo, Hair and Hand lines
- Meta tests across hair, hand and body
- $45,000
- 45%
- Creator pay and Body Duo creator videos
- $25,000
- 25%
- Landing pages built around $75+ shipping
- $20,000
- 20%
- Reserve for winners holding under $20.16
- $10,000
- 10%
Of the $100,000 Proposed budget, tests and creators come first; the reserve moves only when a winner holds target CAC.
The math. 45% × $100,000 = $45,000; 25% × $100,000 = $25,000; 20% × $100,000 = $20,000; 10% × $100,000 = $10,000. Sum 100% = $100,000.
This split is a proposal. It moves toward scaling as winners prove out, and toward testing when fatigue shows.
08 Channels
Meta first, fed by Body Duo reviews and creator videos
| Channel | Open when (proposed) | Why wait |
|---|---|---|
| Meta | Week 1, from the first launch day | Fastest place to test Body Duo and Hand Cream creator videos against one variable. |
| TikTok | Two Meta hooks hold under $20.16 CAC | Same creator videos for Rosemary Hair Duo reach a new audience. |
| Instagram Reels | Creator roster passes six live | Brand hashtags already point to body and planet care; creators can reuse them. |
| YouTube Shorts | Winning hooks repeat for two weeks | Longer shelf life for routine videos on The Body Duo. |
| Google brand search | Paid social lifts name searches | Captures buyers who look up Nécessaire after a creator video. |
A channel opens when its condition is true, not when the calendar says so. Until then the budget stays where the CAC is earned.
09 Payback
Payback: a $35 CAC loses $1.40 on a $42 order
Payback is the real constraint. At a $42 order and 40% margin, a $10 CAC pays back on the first order with $23.60 left. $20 pays back after repeat orders, $13.60 left. At $35 we lose $1.40 an order; at $45, $11.40. Those two are stop lines.
Cumulative margin per customer, order by order, before CAC: $16.80, $33.60.
| CAC (scenario) | First-order margin | Year-one margin | Left after CAC | Payback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $10 | $16.80 | $33.60 | $23.60 | First order |
| $20 | $16.80 | $33.60 | $13.60 | After repeat orders |
| $35 | $16.80 | $33.60 | −$1.40 | Never: stop |
| $45 | $16.80 | $33.60 | −$11.40 | Never: stop |
The math. CAC $10: $33.60 − $10 = $23.60 left; pays back: First order; CAC $20: $33.60 − $20 = $13.60 left; pays back: After repeat orders; CAC $35: $33.60 − $35 = −$1.40 left; pays back: Never: stop; CAC $45: $33.60 − $45 = −$11.40 left; pays back: Never: stop.
Read each row left to right: the margin of the first purchase, the margin over the whole horizon, what is left after CAC, and the purchase on which the CAC is earned back. A scenario that never pays back is a stop, not a test.
10 Scope
Scope: ads, creators and claims; not your store code
Covers
- Meta ad concepts and a weekly test cadence
- Creator briefs, hook library and roster pacing
- Claims sheet drawn from the brand's own wording
- Daily, weekly and monthly reporting
Doesn’t
- Building event tracking; I spec it, your team ships it
- Product formulation or claims approval
- Fulfillment, shipping and returns
- Store theme and code changes
What this plan covers is what I can change inside the ad account and the creator program. Everything outside it is named on the right so nobody assumes it is handled.
Gates, written before spend, so stopping isn’t a negotiation.
| Day | Keep going if (proposed) | Stop or change if |
|---|---|---|
| Day 14 | Twelve ads a week are live and one hook beats the rest on CAC | No ad under $33.60 CAC after $6,000 spent |
| Day 30 | CAC trends toward $20.16 on at least one Body Duo or Hair Duo ad | Every ad above $33.60 CAC after $14,000 spent |
| Day 60 | Winners are scaled while blended CAC holds near $20.16 | Blended CAC above $33.60 for two weeks |
| Day 90 | Cohort payback reads on track and the $100,000 budget can scale | Cohort payback not reached at current CAC |
Each gate is checked on its day with the numbers in the daily and weekly reports. If the stop condition is true, the spend stops and nothing renews until we talk.
What exists, what’s missing, and the order that’s forced.
| Piece | Exists today | Missing | Forced order |
|---|---|---|---|
| claims sheet | Survey lines printed on Body Retinol pages | One approved wording list | 1st |
| creative | The Body Duo: 3017 reviews at 4.7 | Hook library per product | Week 1 |
| creators | Hand Cream, Hair Duo and Body Duo to seed | Roster and briefs | 2nd |
| landing pages | Free US shipping $75+ and Subscribe & Save 15% | One page per creator angle | 2nd |
| reporting | Subscribe & Save 15% orders to tag | Daily CAC and cohort view | 2nd |
The order is forced on purpose: creative and creators come first because they are what moves CAC, and everything else waits for that data.

Month one is where it starts.
In week one I build the claims sheet from the brand's own wording, brief the first two creators on The Body Duo and Rosemary Hair Duo, and launch 12 ads at $250 each with one variable per test.
