Growth plan for Nécessaire, 8 Oct 2026

Scale spend. Hold CAC.

The Body Duo has 3017 reviews and a 4.7 rating, so the proof already exists. The plan turns it into ten creators, new ad tests every week and one number to protect: a target CAC of $20.16, under a ceiling of $33.60.

01 The number

One number: $20.16 CAC on a $42 average order

The number is target CAC: $20.16, which is 0.6 × $33.60. That ceiling comes from a $42 average order, a 40% margin and one repeat order. Those are my starting inputs until your data replaces them. Everything else in the plan serves that line.

Protect

Target CAC: $20.16 on a first purchase

Ceiling = average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders): $42 × 40% × (1 + 1) = $33.60. Guard line = 0.6 × $33.60 = $20.16. Across the ranges: $6.30 to $202.50.

Three moves

  1. Kill losing ads early, one variable per test, so spend only follows creative that earns it.
  2. Feed each winner with fresh creator videos every week so fatigue does not push CAC up.
  3. Cut any ad whose CAC stays above the $33.60 ceiling and report it the next morning.

02 Variety

Body Duo, Hair Duo and Hand Cream each need their own hooks

Each concept has to carry one product, one proof and one hook. Hair gets Rosemary Hair Duo, hand gets The Hand Cream at $28.00, body gets The Body Duo and its 3017 reviews. One variable per test, so every loser teaches something.

Each row is a reason to buy that the brand already has proof for. The count is how many of the ads carry it: a reason with a single ad is a bet, not a pattern, and the next batch of concepts moves toward the reasons that win.

03 Disturbances

Seven risks, from the $75+ shipping line to survey claims

Risks with likelihood, impact, owner and gate
DisturbanceLikelihoodImpactOwnerGate (proposed)

Scores are my read from outside the company, re-scored in week one with your data. Each risk has one owner and one gate that can be checked with a number, so nobody has to argue about whether it happened.

04 The ceiling

The ceiling is $33.60; the guard line is $20.16

Unit economics lines
LineValueStatus
Average order$42 (range $12.00–$150.00)Assumption Range from the site product prices (Published); the midpoint is a guess
Gross margin40% (range 35–45%)Assumption Replace in week one
Repeat orders after the first1 (range 0.5–2)Assumption Replace with cohort data in week one
Margin per customer, all orders$33.60Calculated Average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders)
Guard line for CAC$20.16Calculated 0.6 × the margin per customer

The math, with the assumed lines

Ceiling = average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders): $42 × 40% × (1 + 1) = $33.60. Guard line = 0.6 × $33.60 = $20.16. Across the ranges: $6.30 to $202.50.

Range across the assumptions: $6 to $203.

The $42 order, 40% margin and one repeat order are guesses. The $33.60 ceiling and $20.16 guard line follow from them. Week one replaces them with your real order and repeat data.

The ceiling is a range, not one number: the most a new customer can cost before shipping and packaging, which I do not have. Replace the guessed lines with yours and every figure below recalculates.

05 Test ramp

$24,000 of tests across six weeks, before any scale

Test ramp by week
WeekNew ads × budget / ad (proposed)Weekly test spendCumulativeCreators postingCAC target (proposed)
112 × $250$3,000$3,0000$20

520 × $250$5,000$19,0008$20
620 × $250$5,000$24,00010$20

Weeks 1 and 2 run 12 ads at $250 each, $3,000 a week. Weeks 3 and 4 run 12–20 ads, $4,000 a week. Weeks 5 and 6 run 20 ads, $5,000 a week. Total tests: $24,000, all Proposed. Losers die early; winners earn scale.

Cumulative test spend, week by week (proposed): $24,000 by week 6
  1. $3,000Wk 1
  2. $6,000Wk 2
  3. $10,000Wk 3
  4. $14,000Wk 4
  5. $19,000Wk 5
  6. $24,000Wk 6

The math. Week 1: 12 × $250 = $3,000; Week 2: 12 × $250 = $3,000; Week 3: 16 × $250 = $4,000; Week 4: 16 × $250 = $4,000; Week 5: 20 × $250 = $5,000; Week 6: 20 × $250 = $5,000. Total $24,000 (96 ads × $250). A range such as 12–20 counts as its midpoint.

Weeks one and two test what the brand already has, rewritten per reason to buy. From week three, creator videos enter paid only after they beat their own account median. A range of new ads counts as its midpoint in the spend column.

06 Volume

Volume: 20 to 80 concepts across hair, hand and body

20 concepts → 2 winners → $18,000 added a month; 80 concepts → 8 winners → $72,000. Hit rate and spend per winner are assumptions. More variety across hair, hand and body means more shots at orders under $20.16 CAC.

Concepts, hit rate and added spend
Concepts tested / monthHit rate (assumed)New winners / monthSpend each winner holds (assumed)Added spend at target CAC
2010%2$300 / day$18,000 / month
4010%4$300 / day$36,000 / month
6010%6$300 / day$54,000 / month
8010%8$300 / day$72,000 / month

The math. 20 concepts × 10% = 2 winners × $300 × 30 days = $18,000 a month; 40 concepts × 10% = 4 winners × $300 × 30 days = $36,000 a month; 60 concepts × 10% = 6 winners × $300 × 30 days = $54,000 a month; 80 concepts × 10% = 8 winners × $300 × 30 days = $72,000 a month.

The hit rate and the spend each winner holds are placeholders. The first thirty days of tests replace them with real numbers, and the table is recalculated the same day.

Of the $100,000 Proposed budget, tests and creators come first; the reserve moves only when a winner holds target CAC.

The math. 45% × $100,000 = $45,000; 25% × $100,000 = $25,000; 20% × $100,000 = $20,000; 10% × $100,000 = $10,000. Sum 100% = $100,000.

This split is a proposal. It moves toward scaling as winners prove out, and toward testing when fatigue shows.

08 Channels

A channel opens when its condition is true, not when the calendar says so. Until then the budget stays where the CAC is earned.

09 Payback

Payback: a $35 CAC loses $1.40 on a $42 order

Payback is the real constraint. At a $42 order and 40% margin, a $10 CAC pays back on the first order with $23.60 left. $20 pays back after repeat orders, $13.60 left. At $35 we lose $1.40 an order; at $45, $11.40. Those two are stop lines.

Margin left per customer, order by order (assumed midpoint, before CAC)
  1. $16.80Order 1
  2. $33.60Order 2

Cumulative margin per customer, order by order, before CAC: $16.80, $33.60.

CAC scenarios and payback

$20$16.80$33.60$13.60After repeat orders
$35$16.80$33.60−$1.40Never: stop
$45$16.80$33.60−$11.40Never: stop

The math. CAC $10: $33.60 − $10 = $23.60 left; pays back: First order; CAC $20: $33.60 − $20 = $13.60 left; pays back: After repeat orders; CAC $35: $33.60 − $35 = −$1.40 left; pays back: Never: stop; CAC $45: $33.60 − $45 = −$11.40 left; pays back: Never: stop.

Read each row left to right: the margin of the first purchase, the margin over the whole horizon, what is left after CAC, and the purchase on which the CAC is earned back. A scenario that never pays back is a stop, not a test.

10 Scope

Scope: ads, creators and claims; not your store code

Covers

  • Meta ad concepts and a weekly test cadence
  • Creator briefs, hook library and roster pacing
  • Claims sheet drawn from the brand's own wording
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting

Doesn’t

  • Building event tracking; I spec it, your team ships it
  • Product formulation or claims approval
  • Fulfillment, shipping and returns
  • Store theme and code changes

What this plan covers is what I can change inside the ad account and the creator program. Everything outside it is named on the right so nobody assumes it is handled.

Gates, written before spend, so stopping isn’t a negotiation.

Gates at days 14, 30, 60, 90
DayKeep going if (proposed)Stop or change if
Day 14Twelve ads a week are live and one hook beats the rest on CACNo ad under $33.60 CAC after $6,000 spent
Day 30CAC trends toward $20.16 on at least one Body Duo or Hair Duo adEvery ad above $33.60 CAC after $14,000 spent
Day 60Winners are scaled while blended CAC holds near $20.16Blended CAC above $33.60 for two weeks
Day 90Cohort payback reads on track and the $100,000 budget can scaleCohort payback not reached at current CAC

Each gate is checked on its day with the numbers in the daily and weekly reports. If the stop condition is true, the spend stops and nothing renews until we talk.

Month one is where it starts.

In week one I build the claims sheet from the brand's own wording, brief the first two creators on The Body Duo and Rosemary Hair Duo, and launch 12 ads at $250 each with one variable per test.
